The Sweet Bay is an attractive evergreen shrub with glossy, aromatic leaves and small yellow flowers in springtime which attract bees and beneficial insects. It looks good among naturalistic planting, but can also be used in formal or contemporary gardens, and is often clipped into topiary shapes, or grown as a Standard 'lollipop' Tree. Laurus nobilis is also at home in a patio container or in the herb garden where its leaves are highly prized for flavouring curries, soups and stews. Bay Laurel

Bay Laurel is an elegant, evergreen tree that not only looks stunning with it?s upright, leathery leaves forming a topiary style bush, topping the stiff, thick stem, but it?s foliage can be used in the kitchen for adding aroma and depth of flavour to any stews, sauces or slow cooked meats. Laurus nobilis can grow to a lofty height, but can easily be maintained to restrict it?s growth, making it a brilliantly interactive and rewarding patio container feature or as a border addition.
